What do Carmen McRae, Irene Kitchings, and Billie Holiday have in common? Find out, as Jazz Vocalist (and story teller) Kimberly Gordon takes us on a musical expedition into the lives of these three dynamic women - women trying to survive in a mans world.

Kimberly's one-woman show accompanied by Ron Perrillo on piano will be focusing on Irene Kitchings the wonderful lyricist who was best friends with Billy Holiday and Carmen McRae. Music stories and history all come together in the stage production.

Celebrating women instrumentalists, vocalists, composers, lyricists on the current  Chicago jazz scene, and those written out of history. WOMEN IN JAZZ, I was originally produced as part of the Open Door Repertory Theater's ongoing music series. We are thrilled to have this artists included in our series at RAVISLOE.
